Direct Brow Lift
The goal of a direct eyebrow lift is to improve the position of the eyebrows. This can enhance the appearance of the eyebrows and improve peripheral vision, in some cases. Each procedure is customized to the patient’s individual needs.
A direct brow lift is a surgical procedure performed to raise and reposition the eyebrows. It is a type of brow lift technique that focuses on correcting drooping or sagging eyebrows by removing a small amount of skin and tissue directly above the eyebrows. Raising the position of the eyebrows is designed to achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Patients older than 60 who are concerned about the appearance of their eye brows drooping may be good candidates for a direct brow lift. These patients may also have fatigue from the continuous action of raising their eyebrows to improve vision. A direct brow lift may also be indicated for people with facial paralysis.
A direct brow lift can improve the appearance of a heavy, tired, or angry expression caused by descent of the eyebrows and deep forehead wrinkles. It can also reduce the appearance of hooded eyelids, creating a more refreshed and rejuvenated look. Additionally, it can be an effective option for patients with one eye brow that is lower than the other to achieve better facial balance and symmetry.
A direct brow lift is an open surgical procedure that allows for precise repositioning of the eyebrows.
During a direct brow lift, an incision is made in the forehead, just above the eyebrows.
The length and placement of the incision varies depending on the individual’s specific needs and Dr. Moore’s technique. Through this incision, a small strip of excess skin and underlying tissue is removed. The incisions are then closed with sutures. By removing skin and tissue, the eyebrows are repositioned to a higher level.
Direct brow lifts are typically performed under local anesthesia with IV sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the patient’s preference and Dr. Moore’s recommendation. As with any surgical procedure, there are risks involved, including scarring, infection, numbness.
There are many brow lift techniques. The choice of technique depends on various factors, including the patient’s specific concerns, brow anatomy, and the desired aesthetic outcome.
At your consultation, Dr. Moore will review your medical history and perform a thorough evaluation of the forehead, brows, and eyes to determine if you are a good candidate for surgery.
Based on your preferences and anatomy, Dr. Moore will recommend the surgical technique that he feels is most suitable to address your individual needs and achieve your desired result.
Patients who are in good health, do not smoke, are not prone to excessive scarring, and have no significant eye problems are typically good candidates. If Dr. Moore determines that you are a good candidate for surgery, he will review the risks and benefits of the procedure with you.
